THE CONNECTICUT ASSESSMENT ASSOCIATION

In the late 1970’s, the Middlesex/New London County Clerks Association was formed in order to enhance the knowledge of clerks and assistants with seminars and speakers dedicated to the specific needs of assessment support staff. The CTAA holds meetings and workshops eight times a year: February, March, April, May, September, October, November and December. Throughout the years, our workshops have been geared towards the valuation of motor vehicles, auditing personal property, and comprehensive deed studying, as well as having a “measure and list” workshop each spring to give each member hands training in the field.

In 2005, we realized we were the only association remaining within Connecticut dedicated to the needs of those working as support staff in the assessment field. We collectively decided to open our doors to the entire state, and changed the name to the Connecticut Assessment Association. Currently at a modest membership, we are confident that reaching out to other parts of the state will increase our network exponentially. Coming into 2011, we are starting our year with the launch of our brand new website. Through increasing technology, we intend to bring seminars and speakers right to your door. In member specific areas, you will be able to retrieve documentation from past meetings, video clips from speakers, and access a whole network of industry professionals. With a dedicated board and strong committee leaders, we look forward to the CTAA of the future!
